The beginning

Tuesday 24th November 2009, 09:00... "Mum, it's positive...yes, I'm sure."

This moment will be remembered forever. This week has been the most surreal of both Harry's and my life so far. We're actually having a baby Ellis. I've had to do a couple of overnight radio shows which has meant I've had no choice but to procrastinate for hours. I'm exhausted and cannot wait until I finish my final graveyard shift. Then I can concentrate on being totally healthy.

I feel pregnant but I don't look it. I have this fluttery feeling inside. And everywhere I turn, there's a baby reference. Mum calls it 'filtering'. The nice thing now is that we are VERY excited. I have no idea why our baby wanted to happen now but that's life and we must be grateful for our blessings.

So there's a lot to do in the next 9 months. We have to turn our study into the nursery, clear out the house to make more space and get married! The lovely thing is we can now have the 'intimate' wedding that we've always wanted without any explanation. No big expense, just a meaningful ceremony and a lovely dinner with family and friends.

I look back on the past year and smile. It's been incredible...Bikram Teacher Training, my presenting career, getting engaged, Daniel getting married, Joey's wedding, Nanny getting better, Harry on tour with the British Lions, Mum finding her new love, Dad having another baby and to round it off...I'm pregnant! Thank you Universe.
